Mari Anne Peeples

Director of Congregational Care

Born and raised in Brunswick, Georgia, Mari Anne was brought up in the Baptist Church where she was very involved in her youth group and youth choir all

through her teen years. As a matter of fact she continues to stay in touch with a family that she stay with while on a choir tour to Nashaua, New Hampshire when she was 14 years old.

She attended college in Brunswick, Georgia and then in Jacksonville after moving there with her husband Hugh in 1981 where she spent many years working for the Regency Reality Group, Inc. She and Hugh spent the next 18 years raising 3 children (Jennifer, Todd and Ryan) before they were relocated to Clearwater, Florida from 1999 – 2002.

They moved to Orange Park in 2002. Mari Anne went to work for Performance Management, Inc. in 2005 and traveled all over Florida training and teaching customer satisfaction processes in automobile dealerships to salespeople and service advisers until 2017.

Once again, Hugh was relocated in 2006 to Sarasota, FL, but this time Mari Anne stayed behind because Ryan had just started his senior year in high school. Once Ryan left for college, Mari Anne joined Hugh in Sarasota until returning to Orange Park in 2011.

In 2012 Hugh was working in Virginia, however, this time Mari Anne did not go because of taking care of aging parents. This is when she visited Orange Park Methodist Church with some dear friends and quickly became involved in church, Sunday School and Upward. Once Hugh returned to Florida, in 2014, he started attending OPMC with her where they both joined the church in November of 2014.

As mentioned, Mari Anne and Hugh have three grown children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She enjoys spending as much time with those grand kids as she can. She likes to boat with Hugh, enjoys working in her yards and spending time with dear friends.

Mari Anne loves people and getting to know them. She especially has a special place in her heart for the elderly, something that was instilled in her by her mother as a small child.
