Youth Ministry

Every Sunday night we gather for our main youth program. This is an opportunity for our students to connect with each other and grow in their relationship with God and each other. Every Sunday night we play fun big group games, share a meal together, join together for worship and then have age and gender specific small groups. We begin at 4:30 PM and end at 7:30 PM

This is a weekend of fellowship and fun in the mountains of North Carolina. Every January over the MLK Jr holiday weekend we take our students skiing in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina. This event helps us get excited for the new year and is an opportunity for new students to get connected. 

The summer mission trip is an opportunity for students to take action in their faith and live out the Gospel message of loving your neighbor. This event focuses on two areas - service and spiritual growth. Students do mission work during the day and have a worship experience at night. Mission projects involve rebuilding and repairing homes and other manual labor to help those in need. The trip in July of 2022 is to Copperhill, TN

We do a couple local retreats throughout the year. These are designed to help our students grow closer with one another and spend some time learning and growing together. We have stayed at Camp Chowenwaw in Green Cove Springs. This year our Spring Retreat will be at North Florida Christian Retreat Center in Keystone Heights.

Each October we hold a Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser. This is our major fundraiser for the year and provides the opportunity for students to earn funds for their student accounts. Which is then usable for any youth activity.  

For the last four years we’ve held a Wiffle Ball Tournament every Sunday Night during the month of May. Students are encouraged to recruit their teams and we play a round robin style tournament. Dinner is provided after the games each night.

Upward Basketball provides an experience that grows with young athletes over time by using a four-level age appropriate format.  Each level is tailored to meet athletes where they are in their athletic journey, allowing them to reach their full potential, on and off the court. Our hope is that as we minister to families and students that come for Upward that they may choose us as their church home.
